- What is a Point Cloud?
Millions of points. One complete picture.
A point cloud is a collection of millions of individual data points in 3D space, each captured by our laser scanners with precise X, Y and Z coordinates. Together they form an accurate three-dimensional representation of any object, space or structure. Unlike photographs, point clouds are dimensionally accurate - every point is a real measurement. This means you can take measurements, produce drawings, or build CAD models directly from the data, without needing to return to the vessel.
